Metro East Community Chorale

The Metro East Community Chorale was founded in 1992. It is a federally-registered non-profit organization principally dedicated to bringing a high-quality vocal music program to the St. Louis/Southwestern Illinois area. We are supported by free-will offerings, membership dues, concert program ads, and grants from the Illinois Arts Council.

The Chorale is open to all persons seeking expression and expansion through choral music. No audition is necessary; however, some past experience in choral groups is helpful. We boast 60-70 members from many of the surrounding communities and churches.

The concert season consists of formal Christmas (The concert is scheduled for Sunday, December 12, 2010, 3:00 p.m., at Our lady of the Snows Shrine Church.) and Spring concerts with additional appearances as scheduling permits. The Chorale performs a varied repertoire from traditional classical, spiritual and folk songs to contemporary Christian, light, jazz, patriotic and show tunes. We also have at least one smaller concert in May, a performance at Belleville's Art on the Square.
